Seminar & Conference Attendance 2007

• The 10th European Congress of Nutrition, July 11-13, 2007, Paris
  The Chairman & Secretary of DII participated in this conference. The program consisted of seven plenary lectures (including Danone Prize Laureate 2007 Prof. J. Friedman), 24 symposia, 96 oral communications, 850 posters exhibited, 13 workshops, and 9 satellite symposia. As part of the sponsorship to the congress, Danone Institute International organized a pre-congress symposium entitled “Acquisition of Food-Related Behaviors in Children: Critical Windows for Later Health”. A total of 9 speakers presented their work.
• The 35th Session of the UN-Standing Committee on Nutrition (SCN), in Hanoi Vietnam, on March 3-7,2008
  Two of DII Scientific Members attended the session . SCN is a semi UN agency specializing on nutrition with membership consisting of UN sisters dealing with nutrition, NGOs in nutrition, universities, some government officials, and individual experts on nutrition and health. In the annual meeting, the following are shared to the participants : global and regional reports of nutrition situation (under and over nutrition), UN new policies in global food and nutrition programs, development of technologies in dealing with nutrition problems, and lessons learned from various food & nutrition programs from various countries.
